Master fiddler, Gordon Stobbe, teaches, mentors and performs across Canada and in the Canadian North. He is interested in Canadian traditional music and feels strongly about preserving the Canadian fiddle heritage. He co-created and hosted 8 seasons of the traditional music variety program "Up Home Tonight" on the ATV/CTV network, providing a platform to many young Atlantic artists who have gone on to professional careers.
Gordon has been inducted as a Pioneer in Music into the Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame and has been awarded the ECMA Stompin' Tom Award for his long term contributions to music. Gordon was given the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Association for Outstanding Contribution to Old Time Fiddling in Canada. He was inducted into the North American Fiddlers Hall of Fame in New York.
Recently Gordon was appointed as a Member to the Order of Canada for his commitment to the preservation of fiddle music as a performer, composer and teacher.
